Lets first started with the term “slipped disc”: Disc Don’t actually
Yes, it’s an accepted misconception that discs slip out of place. The vertebral end plates, which are made of cartilage and bone, connect the disc to the vertebrae and prevent the disc from slipping. Discs can be injured, though, and can experience damage like bulging or prolapse.
The term “slipped disc” is incorrect, and using it can lead people to believe their discs are fragile and easily damaged.
This can make people afraid to move and bend, which can make their pain worse and prevent recovery.
A Disc herniation, also known as a bulging disc, occurs when the soft inner core of a spinal disc protrudes through a tear in the tougher outer layer. This bulging material can press on nearby nerves, causing symptoms like severe back pain, leg pain, numbness, or weakness. The condition can significantly impact daily activities and overall well-being.
Common causes of disc herniation include age-related degeneration, repetitive stress, or sudden injury. It often affects the lower back (lumbar spine) but can also occur in the neck (cervical spine). Symptoms vary depending on the location of the herniated disc and the nerves affected.
You can have a slipped disc in any part of your spine, from your neck to your lower back. The low back, or lumbar spine, is one of the more common areas for slipped discs.

- If however you lose all voluntary bladder or bowel control, only then will you need emergency invasive procedures to decompression the area.
